The beautiful Ca' the Ewes to the Knowes is first orchestrated for brass choir, then woodwind choir, then full band. The flutes and alto saxophones are then featureed in a contrapuntal excerpt from the Scots reel, I Wish You Would Marry Me Now. Brief musical excerpts from My Love She's But a Lassy Yet and Loch Lomond lead to the familiar Comin' Thro' the Rye. Beginning with a martial snare drum solo, Scotland the Brave features muted trumpets accompanied by a woodwind drone, simulating the traditional Scottish Highland bagpipes. ![]() ![]() This delightful medley includes some of Scotland's best known folk songs.
